The Berlin Film Festival has unveiled the first 21 titles for this year's Panorama section, including four films from Asia. The Panorama section will ultimately screen around 50 films at the Berlinale, which runs Feb. 5-15.
The German/Taiwan co-production "Ghosted" will have its world premiere at the festival's 30th edition, with "Gururi No Koto" hoisting the Japanese flag.
In the Indonesia entry At Stake, five young directors explore prevailing moral conceptions in the world’s most populous Islamic country: the topics range from female genital mutilation to the conflict that results when unmarried women want to go to the gynaecologist.
The Asian contingent is rounded up with two productions from Indonesia, "Laskar Pelangi" and the anthology documentary "At Stake," in which five directors explore female issues in the world’s most populous Islamic country.
